    The airforce left Thruxton in 1946 and for a couple of years it sat doing nothing until 1950 when the circuit was born and motorsport came to Thruxton in the form of motorbikes and then in 1952 motor racing started on the old airfield. In 1968 Thruxton became the track we know today and followed the lines of the perimeter road.
