By HAMMER Jul 28, 2019. Well before Toledo Speedway we even thought of, the Toledo, Ohio, area had auto racing as far back as 1902. It started at Fort Miami Speedway at the current location of the Lucas Country Rec Center. It was a 1 mile dirt oval with a 1/4 mile and 3/8 mile track later cut into the infield. Fort Miami would operate until 1957.
