Racing began at Tweseldown in 1866 and was staged for the benefit of officers from Aldershot Garrison. The Grand Military Gold Cup was run on the Hampshire course until it was moved to Sandown in 1887 but National Hunt meetings continued to be organised at Tweseldown until 1932. At one time as many as seven fixtures took place annually.

The free draining sandy soil enables excellent going all year round. Along with three unaffiliated Horse Trials throughout the year Tweseldown also hosts four BE events in March, May and July and October. BE Horse Trials 80cm-100cm We are one of the only venues in England to be lucky enough to run 4 BE Horse Trials a year.

Tweseldown offers XC facilities ranging from 60cm up to Intermediate/Advanced. We cater for our local Pony Clubs, U18 program and National Equestrian teams. Our XC courses are top class, designed by Eric Winter and built by Dominic Moore of Jump 1, they offer the perfect education for both horse and rider. Availability: Everyday 08.00 – 17.00.
