    Powerglides are great transmissions in my opinion. The only advantage that a 3spd auto would have is the mid range of 2nd gear. This will help if you have a heavy car. But 2nd gear in powerglide is the same 1:1 ratio that 3rd gear is in a 3spd auto.

    The Powerslide,, a 2 speed tranny with lots of converter slip. Fast and faster. No slow! Robs power and burns up fuel. Though quite tough if maintained properly.
