We offer two very different and distinct racing filter lines. For maximum flow and horsepower the lowest restriction pure racing media filters are recommended – oil (T-10) and air (T-66). However, when endurance and better engine protection are needed, WIX’s high efficiency endurance media filters are the correct choice – oil (T-71) and air (T-88).

Since the early 1960’s, when Richard Petty began using WIX filters, generations of motorsports champions have driven to Victory Lane with WIX Filters. For us, the racetrack serves as a grueling testing ground for scenarios involving high temperatures, fluctuations in pressure and rapid breakdown of engine oil.

There is another warning that says "Wix racing filters are designed for racing purposes only and if used on street-driven vehicles, pre-mature wear is possible." The part number my kit calls for is 57004R or equivalent (I bought the 57004R). At $15 each I plan to use the 6 I have but, maybe I need to look for something different for future use?

The reason these filters are not intended for street use is the micron rating. These filters will capture particles as small as 61 microns. WIX-51069 filters, for example, will capture particles as small as 21 microns. The race filters are less restrictive, and allow for more flow.

The Wix 51061 is the "street" filter for a V8 Chevy, and I use it with a high volume oil pump and blocked bypass valve with zero problems. The "race" version is really unnecessary. X2 the 51061 and the NAPA gold are the same filter and the K&N is not a quality filter compared to the I have listed.

THESE FILTERS ARE NOT FOR STREET USE! You puke an engine over some oil problem, Wix WILL NOT support your use of a racing only filter on a street driven vehicle. We ran Wix Racing filters until Jomar came out with their filter. The big thing is that the Wix has a bypass and the Jomar doesn't. There's no chance of wrecking your engine on cold start because of an open bypass with the Jomar, but you need to get your oil up to temperature or use a heater before you get the RPM up. Brock G. The OEM, or Street Performance filters from WIX or NAPA is perfect and a high quality part. NAPA 4069 is 1/2 quart (WIX 54069) NAPA 4061 is Full quart (WIX 54061) Take any WIX number and drop the first number and you have a NAPA part number. “The bitterness of poor quality & Service remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten” Save
