I was skeptical considering the mixed reviews you hear on past Zipp hubs. But I have to say the the wheels are fantastic. For reference, I've had Shamal Ultras (similar to Fulcrum Zeros), hand-builts, Edge 45's, Hyperons, Lightweights, etc. Although the 101's aren't built on the lightest rims out, the wheels are very responsive, hold speed ...

My focus is the Half Iron Man event and hence aerodynamics is also important. I can buy a set of fulcrum One for $850, or Fulcrum One 2-way for $1050, or the Fulcrum Zero for $1200 or a set of Zipp 101 for $1100. I don't want to spend too much as I want to upgrade to a Trek Madone in the next 3 years so would rather spend the extra cash then.

Racing Zero DB - Road Bike Wheels - Fulcrum Wheels

Racing Zero DB. The aim was clear - to design a wheel with disc brakes, with the same soul of the original “Racing Zero”. Creating it wasn't easy, given the premises and the myth it referred to. We believe we have succeeded, developing a design along the same lines as that of conventional brakes. The riding experience is the same and ...

Sorry..another wheel debate...Fulcrum zero & Zipp 101 or.

    https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=88412
Fulcrum Racing Zero (tubulars or clinchers)...amazing rolling wheels and stiff from what I've heard. Zipp 101 ...hubs have gotten much better and wider rim technology. Bontrager xxx lite clincher ...lighter than the first two, durable, but still a carbon clincher. These three are around the same price and I weigh 145lbs. Just can't decide.
