If it is a stock,or mild built vette, I would pre-stage the car (with the shifter in D, not OD). Hold the brake pedal solidly with your left foot, and bring the revs up slightly. 1500 rpms or slightly less. Slip the car into the stage beam carefully and wait for the 3rd yellow. Smash it to the wood and hope it hooks.
