The J-200s built from 1955 also had a double X bracing, in this case a second wide angle X brace above the soundhole. Big difference though when it is placed above the soundhole as opposed to below it. The only guitars Gibson doubled up on the single X brace were the B45-12s built from late 1964 on. This Proulx has a double-X braced top. Doubt if it's like Gibson as Mario doesn't make anything like anyone else, but there are two X's in there. Hi Jim ,the double x brace is not unusual .It was the bracing system used by Gibson generally in the 70`s ...but into the early 80`s to .The system is thought to be less toneful ,more rigid and or less appealing . The double X bracing, as on many Gibsons from that era, caused some minor non-structural 1/2 inch wood splitting between the sound hole towards the neck. Gibson patched it underneath, but also pointed out that there's an original factory brace at the 1/2 inch mark that stops it from going further. You see this cosmetic split on a lotta 70's Gibson.

Heavier bracing, double X bracing beginning in 1971, switch from a 17 degree peghead to 14 from 1965 to 1973, things like that. In retrospect, Gibson went downhill design-wise beginning a lot earlier than most Gibson fans care to admit.
