    Posted 5 years ago. My low iron is what caused my anxiety in the first place. I felt so ill when my iron was low - heart racing, shaky, light headed and the list goes on! As a result I became anxious and now after about 10 months of iron tablets and 9 months of antidepressants later I can still feel that anxiety there.
