Re: rotisserie braces Doors provide no structural integrity. Take them off, install braces. If you feel the need to leave doors on run bracing behind door. Hinges should be rebuilt. I assume this car is quite solid; a weak body put on a rotisserie can result in less than desirable flexing and misalignment potential.

To balance a car on a rotisserie, you must find the center of gravity on the car. The easiest way is to measure the roof to the rocker, and half that would be the center point. Then that center point must be in line with the center point on the rotisserie, which would be the part that spins. Once you have that in line it should spin pretty freely as it will become weightless.

Everyone thinks I'm nuts for the extra bracing in the rotisserie and not the body but if you have it mounted in tightly the body is not moving. If you brace the car body only, you still need to watch where you are cutting on the rusted car body, it still can collapse. Make sure you brace it in all directions then I would brace it again.

This is the bracing on my car....it was also on a rotisserie for ease of getting at everything. If you are replacing the outer sill I would cut thru the intermediate sill and see what condition your inner sill is in. These cars can rust from the inside to the outside. Bracing should be weldedto ensure no movement when you unpick the car.
